How to make your own Fest, with the Open Publishing Fest software
When Adam came up with the Open Publishing Fest idea in 2020, we needed the right software to make it work, and everything we found here and there wasn’t really what we needed. So we made it from scratch.
For a couple of weeks with (very) short nights, Julien did some experimentation, prototyping in the real world, figuring out what it means for computer to live in different time zones.
And if the code was a bit rough last year, we’re now having a proper setup, that we can replicate easily (and customize if needed!). We’re using a static website generator, and we even made a small interface to manage the events, their categories, and their schedule.
And since what we build at Coko is open source, we decided to share the code, and make it reusable so anyone who would need a calendar with a system to manage the events could use it.
So come along as we’ll show you how we made it!
