Location of known journals using PKP’s Open Journal Systems
Open Journal Systems (OJS) has a distributed user community, and it has always been hard to know who is using the software, where, and for what. Based on a PKP sub-project called the Beacon, we are publishing an open data set describing the known OJS user community, the number of journals they represent, and the nature of their work. One early result is that the journal publishing community appears to be significantly larger than we thought. This work will set the stage for future research into the global publishing community using OJS, OMP, and OPS.
